Working step by step on restoring control and vitality.

Treatment at Spine begins with carefully mapping out the symptoms, the impact on daily life, and the factors that may influence recovery and functioning.

From there, we work together on a treatment plan that aligns with your personal situation and goals.

THE TREATMENT PROCESS

1. Registration and referral

A referral from a general practitioner or medical specialist is always required for treatment of Spine.

You can register by phone, via the website, or via WhatsApp. After receiving your registration, we will contact you by phone to schedule the intake and diagnostics. These take place in two separate appointments.

2. Intake and diagnostics

During the intake and diagnostics, we inform you about the treatment plan and carefully map out your complaints, functioning, capacity, request for help, and objectives together with you.

In doing so, we look not only at individual complaints, but at the complete picture of physical, psychological, and daily functioning.

The findings are subsequently discussed within a multidisciplinary consultation. Based on this, we assess whether treatment at Spine is appropriate and indicated, and which treatment plan best suits your situation.

3. Personal treatment plan

Based on the intake, diagnostics, and multidisciplinary consultation, a treatment plan is drawn up that aligns with your situation, needs, and objectives.

The treatment may consist of various components, depending on what is appropriate within your trajectory.

4. Treatment

Within Spine, various disciplines collaborate to restore functioning, balance, and quality of life.

The treatment consists of fixed treatment components, which may include the use of:

  • cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT);

  • psycho-education;

  • psychosomatic treatment;

  • mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT);

  • EMDR treatment.

In addition, if appropriate within the treatment plan, medication may be prescribed, adjusted, or tapered off under the supervision of the treating physician or psychiatrist.

Depending on your situation and needs, the various treatment components are combined within a personal treatment plan.

5. Evaluation and progress

During the treatment process, we regularly evaluate together how things are going, what steps are being taken, and where adjustments may be needed.

6. Relapse prevention and aftercare

At the end of the treatment process, we pay extensive attention to maintaining control and vitality in daily life.

Together with the client, work is done on a personal relapse prevention plan (TVPP). This plan is based on the insights, knowledge, and focus points that were central during treatment and serves as practical support for the period after treatment.

In addition, the relapse prevention plan may consist of periodic follow-up sessions at Spine, tailored to the client's personal situation and wishes. This may also be waived in consultation.

Additionally, clients can participate in the online Spine community starting in mid-September 2026. Within this environment, like-minded individuals can meet, share experiences, ask questions, and make use of additional information and periodic seminars.
